Individuals on the Autistic Spectrum

In addition to being a mother of an autistic son, I have a vast amount of experience working with both adults and children on the autistic spectrum or autistic related disorders.

Autistic individuals are unique with talents that should and need to be enhanced and embraced. My aim is to help you flourish and fulfil your potential.

It is common for individuals on the autistic spectrum to suffer from anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem. The main aims for counselling are to help you learn new cognitive and behavioural skills that were never learned and develop alternative strategies for certain behavioural deficits that cannot be changed.

This joined with a non-judgemental, empathic and honest environment can help with many issues that you may have.

If you have a child who has recently been diagnosed with an autistic related disorder, ADHD or a learning difficulty, counselling can help you come to terms with diagnosis and develop new strategies. In addition, if you have been diagnosed as an adult, I can also help you come to terms with and understand your diagnosis and develop new coping strategies.
